The Power of Words

I saw this picture...

On this blog and it got me thinking about words and how sometimes the right ones make the day a lot better. I wanted to share some words I've noticed through the blogosphere that well, now I'm on the hunt to place somewhere in my own home.

This popular poster says it all when days are chaotic {to say the least} I love pink but you can find one in your favorite color too.

This one is lovely and if you're a avid Domino Mag reader I'm sure you fell in love with it just like I did.

I saw this one here but you can find your copy here. Sometimes these words are so easily forgotten {especially when everything seems to be going wrong}

There are plenty more where these come from but just think about it... isn't it amazing how a few words can change how you feel or what you're thinking? So go ahead and find some motivating words to hang in your space.

And So It Begins...

My crafting bonanza begins now. I've mapped out my plan, and hope I didn't get to ambitious, but either way I'm ready. I will open up the etsy store too, so as I post things and you see something you like, visit the store and get one for yourself... and your best friend too :)

{The image is of greeting cards I made with my gocco (I really love my gocco!)}

Handmade Holiday

As I was looking at my holiday gift list and thought about what to give friends and family, I got inspired. While I will shopping for some gifts, I'm also looking to have more handmade items under the my Christmas Tree this year. I'm going to say it... yes, I will not only shop for handmade gifts but make a few of my own. Lucky you, I'll talk about it here. Before I start talking about craftista journey, let me share some things I have my eyes on....

I love these Patapri Kitchen Towels

This Moop Market Bag is perfect for anything including the market.

My girlfriends could use a little wristlet like this. Oh, and I could put this wristlet in my market bag for a transition from day to night.

Did you notice how these gifts went from being for friends to being for me? Yea, I noticed that change in word tense too... but I promise these gifts really will be for everyone but me. {ok almost all will be for everyone but me}

Craftista {oh I wish}

I believe within all of us is a little crafty being who is ready to create, but for me the crafty girl in my mind doesn't always match my skill. With that said, I know my level of expertise and I also know when I need to just purchase instead of create. After seeing these...

I sooo wanted to create. I found these adorable knitted cupcakes via Black Eiffel and they come from little cotton rabbits. These would be so perfect for party decor, lovely favors or sweet decorative touches to a little girls room. Really, there are so many ways to use these why not have some of your own. Shop for them here.

Oh and Psst... these hand knitted stuffed animals are perfect for shower gifts that little ones can take with them everywhere. Meet Macy...

Use Your Words

This is something we taught my niece to do at a very young age and now, she can say everything she thinks and feels. For those of us who may not use our words as well... These Rock Scissor Paper cards can be used to capture exactly what we want to say. I love the bold colors, the various font styles and how they set up these one word cards called Wild Words, so that the recipient knows what you want to say. {be warned some of the words are a little stronger than others but sometimes those words have to be said too}.

Here's a few choice words from the collection....

Emboss It!

Want a quick and stylish way to upgrade your stationary or create authentic stationary... Emboss it.

If you're looking for a monogram one of my favorite companies is PSA Essentials. They have a variety of pre-crafted designs to choose from and before you know it, you're ready to emboss anything made of paper.

If you're moods change like the weather and somedays want to use your monogram and other days a symbol like a flower then this desk embosser from Paper Source.is perfect for you. The emossing plates are sold individually so you can have as many as your heart desires.

What I love about the paper source embosser is you can use plates to share a simple message of "Thank You" or "Save the Date" or just leave your return address....

{hint to brides if your watching your budget think about embossing your return address on your envelopes or even using an thank you embossing plate}

Ready to change your stationary? Emboss it!

Calendar Girl

Even with smart phones, PDAs etc I still have to have a paper calendar. Sure your PDA can store everything you can imagine but when all else fails.... you can't go wrong with paper. Here are some calendars That could suit

I know for most of us, there's never enough time in a day so when I saw 8 Days-A Week calendar that gave me an extra day in the week I felt like finally my growing list of things to do could be scheduled.

If you're a doodler like me try the 8-Days a Week Doodle Planner.

Another great agenda is specifically for Moms who have to keep track of everyone's schedule.

I really just like the designs and bold patterns of these Whomi Calendars.

Now you may not need a calendar until August {like me} but its always good to look.

Get Crafty!

I was reading through the blog black eiffel and came across this cool tutorial about aking a photo journal and thought this is a very easy project but also perfect for recounting a trip, making as a gift for bridemsaids, or just to have for yourself to jot your own ideas, thoughts and wishlist down. Here's some pictures of the finished result.

{PS, If you don't want to do just photos try decorative paper, postcards and other cartstock weight paper.}
