DIY Inspiration
Numerous blogs have talked about inspiration boards and even I have made my fair share, but after reading wedding bee and learned about a cool feature from big hudge labs, I couldn't resist playing with it. Sure there were probably more productive things I could be doing {but not today}. Big Huge Labs has a feature where you can create your own "mosaic tiles" or what I call an inspiration boards. It's effortlessly easy. If you have a flickr account or know the url's of the pictures either way you can create as many boards as your heart desires. So if you're trying to formulate a wedding concept or think about how to redecorate a room this is perfect. Here's one I made. Want to make one or two of your own click here.

Fashion Inspired
While gazing at all the beautiful things featured for fashion week I thought I'd share some inspiration. If you're planning an event or wedding in the Spring, then use the Pantone 2008 fashion color report as your guide. In my own little twist, I found invitations that feature some of the coming fashion season's colors.
If your planning a spring wedding and thinking about color, design etc... be inspired.

Behind the Board
Have you checked out my inspiration board? Now let me tell you why I picked this one… I was attracted to the color scheme and wondered who is the Brewster family and what did I think displayed who they are. A lot can be said in the color choices of this card and with its vibrant color palette I thought this is a chic, stylish family not at all conservative in their style and décor choices. So bold room colors and unique decor and design with the use of decorative prints that are bold but not overdone. I'll admit this card was a choice but not my first choice, but I love a challenge and as I started looking for different pictures I loved these and thought these room choices exhibited my impression of this family.
As for the other cards I've posted, look for boards about these as well, but I fell in love with this board so this is the one we're submitting. The rest will be for me to use and play with different ideas.

Project
At the beginning of July decor8 posted I Dream of Cake where rooms were paired to match the design of the wedding cakes. Well, decor8 has done it again and announced a project where they have partnered with fabulous stationary asking that a card from the company's stationary line be selected as the inspiration of finding rooms that match the design of the stationary. The project details are on decor8's blog. We're jumping in and will spend the next few days creating inspiration boards for the selected cards. Tell me which one you like. Over the next few days I'll post a variety of boards and give you a sneak peak to the one I've decided to enter into this contest.

The Prelude to the Party-101
I know you've heard it over and over again, that your invitation is the prelude to your event. Well, its true! Your invitation is what gets guest excited and eagerly anticipating your event. So why not give them a peek inside your plans with a wonderfully styled invite? Of course not all of us have big wedding budgets to spend a lot of money on invitations but whatever your budget... don't forget the invite. Let me show you why. Thanks to weddings featured on my latest blog discovery Faye and Greer, I've taken components of a wedding and invitation they featured separately and shown how your invitations are just as important as all the other wedding details.
The chic and simply lovely designed invite and its yellow hue picked up on the romantic charm this wedding exudes.(photos from mel barlow via faye and greer; invitation little tree press)

White Hot Bridal Shower
When I created this inspiration board for a bridal shower the words of Billy Idol hit my head "Its a nice day for a white wedding" and from those words I thought... Why not create a shower that is totally white. Celebrate the purity of love with an all white wedding shower. The inspiration board gets you started with a variety of decoration elements.
Envision white candies, tea sandwhiches, a cool game like a memory scrapbook or yearbook where your guest schedule activities with you or for you for a year. Plus a signature white drink like white chocolate martini with white chocolate truffle features. Think white bouquets throughout your venue of various flowers and paper lanterns around your buffet and large diamonds to use with centerpieces. If you want a gift theme think linens for bedrooms, kitchen and dining room. Ask guest to wear whit like these cute dresses from j.crew Most of all take plenty pictures and have fun.

Creative Inspiration
What inspires you to create? For me, everything can lead to a possible stationary idea. Sometimes when I cannot focus on an idea or need help finding the right font or color, I stare on to my wall of inspiration. Sure it looks like a collage and probably could be neater but for me it works. After pouring through some of my favorite magazines like InStyle, Domino, Blueprint, The Knot, Inside Weddings or Bride and Bloom, I found my creative inspiration. Whether you're planning a wedding or like me creating stationary, build yourself a board of inspiration. On those days when you feel you've given all you got... the board will help.
Happy Creating, Oh yea the image is my inspiration board.
