Mint to Be!

Ok, the headline is a bit cheesy, but Minted has become a new favorite site. Not because of the stylish wedding invites but for their great contest. Thanks to Suffix Abuse and a few other blogs, I've been checking out their latest designer contest, The Save The Date Challenge. On a Break

That's what it seems like. If there are any readers left I'm back. Believe it or not this blog has been going for one full year. Of course we have celebrated, but we're also thinking of where to go next. If you have thoughts please share. Until then please pardon our remodeling dust :)

Create a book

I saw these over on the Bluelines blog and had all types of ideas. These blank board books are perfect for all types of projects. Let me share a few...

#1 You could uses these to make wonderful childrens books. You can incorporate little ones in the creation of the story and cut out your own pictures.
#2 You can use these little books to be the basis of a baby shower design. Incorporate the party theme and create a lovely little story that can lead up to the shower invite on the last page.
#3 You can use them as an activity at a birthday party allowing kids to make their own story creation to share with their parents.
#4 You could use them for a party centerpiece for a children's birthday party. I would think the book could feature the number of the year the child is.

There are plenty of ideas and these are just a few to get you started. This is such a great weekend craft everyone can enjoy.

The Power of Words

I saw this picture...



On this blog and it got me thinking about words and how sometimes the right ones make the day a lot better. I wanted to share some words I've noticed through the blogosphere that well, now I'm on the hunt to place somewhere in my own home.

This popular poster says it all when days are chaotic {to say the least} I love pink but you can find one in your favorite color too.


This one is lovely and if you're a avid Domino Mag reader I'm sure you fell in love with it just like I did.

There are plenty more where these come from but just think about it... isn't it amazing how a few words can change how you feel or what you're thinking? So go ahead and find some motivating words to hang in your space.

Lovely and Letterpressed

I was visiting the blog Black White Bliss and fell in love with these wonderfully creative and totally chic letterpress buckles and thought this was such a stylish and innovative way to wrap a gift. Also if you're looking to do a gift theme for any celebration these letterpressed buckles would be a perfect detail to your decor.
